On 26th - 28th October 2018 comes a real adventure for young men aged 14-18. Explore what it means to be a man of God and learn real-life survival skills from Catholic outdoorsman Will Hince, founder of Beyond the Wild: including tracking, trapping, friction fire-lighting, shelter building, purifying water and navigating by the stars. Discover the tools we need for spiritual survival, with daily Mass, the Sacraments and prayer, while experiencing true brotherhood. Overnight, the group will stay at The Stables (Kenelm Youth Trust’s hostel-style accommodation in the village of Alton). In the daytime, the group will head in to wilderness of the Churnet Valley! The cost of the weekend is £105pp but we are limited to just 15 places.

The KYT Charity Ball is on Saturday 20th October at The Belfry, Sutton Coldfield. Our evening at this superb venue begins with a champagne reception before heading to the Ballroom for a four course meal and wine. Preferential B&B early bird rates have been negotiated and are available for £139 bed and breakfast, so you can stay over and enjoy the spa and facilities.
This year, the funds raised from the event will go towards the refurbishment of The Castle, in particular, bedrooms, bathrooms, the games room and site development for activities, ensuring that Alton Castle remains a vibrant and exciting place for young people to visit, for years to come.

National Youth Sunday takes place each year on the feast of Christ the King where young people are celebrated and prayed for as they walk on their journey of faith. National Youth Sunday 2018 takes place on 25th November and it is a great opportunity to share with parishes across our diocese about the ways in which young people have experienced God in their lives and have been supported and encouraged by the work of The Kenelm Youth Trust. Treasured is a retreat for girls aged 13- 17. Discover the treasure of our faith and what it means to be called a daughter of God. Join other young women at Soli Centre for Youth Ministry in Alton, Staffordshire, for a weekend discovering the truth that we are treasured by a God who loves us.

Across the Diocese, each of our Development Workers is coordinating social outreach during a single weekend. We listened carefully to the voice of young people through our preparations for the Papal Synod and it is clear that young people want to make a difference and serve in their own communities.
Our prayers will join with those of the pilgrims and Pope Francis in Panama, because with a Mass celebrated at 7pm in St. Peter and Paul in Wolverhampton, followed by Panamanian cuisine!
