On Tuesday, the Vatican published ‘Christus Vivit’ (‘Christ is alive’ in English) – Pope Francis’ apostolic exhortation to the church, given after the recent synod on Faith, Young People and Vocational Discernment.
The Pope said that the document is inspired by what emerged during synod discussions. It is not, he said, exhaustive but instead highlights the most important proposals, as the Church moves forward.
The synod process is detailed, and there lots of documents, consultations and preparations that go into a synod such as this one, as well as the response of the church locally, such as the listening exercises that took place in our own Archdiocese Diocese.
The Kenelm Youth Trust and the Vocations Office are teaming up to launch have a social media mini-campaign, looking at this whole process: reminding people of where we began, looking at the synod’s findings and to keep the conversation going. Look out for #spotlightonthesynod posts in the next few weeks!
