How much do students need to bring?
At Soli there is a tuck shop as well as opportunities to visit a café in the Local Area. So students may want to bring spending money. 10-15 pounds is advised amount. This might vary if the school is visiting Alton Towers as part of there trip, in which case students might need to bring more.
Does my child need a sleeping bag?
Sleeping bags are not required each Soli bedroom has duvet’s and pillow’s and clean sheets.
Does my child need a towel?
Yes your child should bring a towel with them on retreat, we don't provide these.
What will my child be eating?
The Menu at Soli varies from week to week, but each retreatant is supplied with breakfast (cereal fruit and toast), a lunch and dinner. We send teaching staff the menu, a week before the trip so if you have any concerns please contact them. We cater for all dietary requirements and our kitchen is a nut free kitchen. So please just record all dietary requirements on the medical form so we can make sure we are adequately catering for all retreatants.
What will my child be doing?
The Soli Program consists of a variety of activities designed to help retreatants grow in their personal relationships with God and one another. This is done through participation of the sacraments, times of Prayer and reflection, as well as exciting team building and outdoor activities like mountain biking, escape rooms and bubble football.
Where will they be staying?
Soli- Centre for youth ministry, is based in the village of Alton, a 2-minute walk from our sister centre Alton Castle. Retreatants share a single sex ensuite dorm in groups of around 6-8 people. The Building use to be hotel until the refurb and it started welcoming groups in 2014.
My group is visiting Alton Towers, what do we do with our bags. Or how do we get to/from Alton Towers?
